The Nicholas and Janice Brathwaite Award

In keeping with its mission to support projects focused on youth, education, and community development, in 2012, The PETNA Foundation established The Nicholas and Janice Brathwaite Award.

The Award is intended to provide a helping hand to talented young people who would otherwise be unable to pursue their education.

The Award provides funding to support students from Grenada in pursuing an undergraduate degree at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. McMaster University is ranked as one of the world’s Top 100 universities. It counts approximately 30,000 full-time students, representing more than 70 countries, and offers a full range of programs in humanities, social sciences, engineering, science, business and health sciences.

Awards can be made to students entering any Level I program as a full-time student, and are tenable for up to four years (with special consideration for students undertaking a five-year undergraduate program).

Brathwaite Awards cover all educational expenses, including application fees, deposits, travel, tuition, housing, food, books and other related supplies.

To retain their award, recipients must remain registered as full-time students and meet the minimum course load requirement as outlined in McMaster’s Undergraduate Calendar.
